Quick answer: Start with accurate store information, a useful page for each real location and clear pages for your actual services. Then connect those pages to a quote, consultation or store visit. Measure relevant enquiries as well as search visibility.

What should a jeweller check first?

Open your website and your Google Business Profile as a customer would. Can someone tell which location carries the category they want, whether an appointment is necessary and how to contact that store? A beautiful homepage cannot resolve an incorrect address or a consultation link that sends every enquiry to the wrong branch.

Create a store-information sheet that one person owns. Record the approved business name, street address, phone, ordinary hours, special hours, service categories and booking destination. Compare the sheet against the website and important public listings. Record discrepancies and the correction status rather than assuming a submitted edit is already visible.

    • Use the business name customers actually encounter, without adding search keywords to it.
    • Check holiday hours before promoting a seasonal event.
    • Make directions, parking and accessibility information specific to the location.
    • Send a test enquiry and confirm which staff member receives it.

Build pages around real locations and real services

Google says local visibility considers relevance, distance and prominence. Accurate, complete information helps Google understand a business; it does not make distance disappear or guarantee a position. Your website should help people make a decision after they find you.

A useful location page includes that store’s address and hours, real photographs, available services, appointment expectations and a direct next step. For a multi-store business, explain meaningful differences such as an on-site goldsmith or a particular consultation service. Avoid publishing near-identical pages for towns where you have no store.

Give bridal consultations, custom design and repair their own pages when you genuinely offer those services. Explain the process and what a customer should bring. Do not invent turnaround times, stock availability, credentials or guarantees to fill a template.

Working example: A custom-design page could answer: Can we reuse an existing stone? What happens at the first meeting? What information helps you prepare a quote? The answers must come from your actual design team.

Answer the questions staff already hear

Keep a shared question log at the counter and in your enquiry system. Capture the customer’s wording, the category and the answer approved by a knowledgeable staff member. Turn recurring questions into useful guides, then link each guide to the relevant service and location.

This creates a stronger starting point than a list of disconnected keyword variations. A guide about preparing for a ring consultation can link to bridal appointments. A guide about redesigning an inherited piece can link to custom-design enquiries. Product education should reflect current gemmological facts and your actual policies.

For AI search, retain the same discipline: clear answers, accessible pages and verifiable business information. Google’s guidance does not prescribe special AI schema or guarantee inclusion. Check that your most useful content is present in rendered HTML and that internal links work.

Ask for honest reviews and keep replies useful

Google allows businesses to share a review link or QR code, but reviews must reflect genuine experiences and must not be incentivised. Make an honest review invitation part of a consistent customer-care process. Avoid selecting only customers who indicate they will leave a positive rating.

When replying, do not reveal purchase details or a surprise proposal. Thank the reviewer, address the point they raised and move any sensitive discussion to an appropriate private channel. A review response is public customer service, not a place to insert every keyword you want to rank for.

    Use a simple monthly review

In Search Console, review which relevant queries and pages received impressions and clicks. Compare those patterns with enquiries for bridal, custom work and service. Record whether the enquiry became a confirmed appointment, an attended visit or a recorded sale, while acknowledging gaps in attribution.

If a page earns visits but no enquiries, inspect its offer, mobile form and next step before writing more articles. If it receives little visibility, check indexability, internal links and whether it answers a specific useful question. Choose the next change from the evidence available.

    Common questions

Does every jewellery store need its own location page?

A distinct page is useful for each real location when it contains accurate contact information and meaningful store-specific details. Avoid duplicate city pages created only to target search phrases.

Does FAQ markup guarantee AI visibility?

No. Useful answers and crawlable pages can support discovery, but structured data does not guarantee indexing, rankings or inclusion in an AI answer.
